A lunchtime gardening club and community after school events began at Baguley in June 2013 with Celia and Nicola facilitating growing activities at school from then until Easter 2014.
With the help of Lottery funding, food was grown and harvested, plus a greenhouse built to lengthen the growing season.
During the last gardening session and community event before the winter break, children, staff and parents planted blueberry bushes for healthy summer snacking, as well as make festive wreaths using red dogwood (Cornus alba ‘Sibirica’) from the school’s grounds.
