Helping communities to grow their own fruit, veg & flowers
Open Space
The Lottery Funded ‘Open Space‘ project began in March 2011 at Lostock College. It transformed a derelict site on school grounds into a thriving veg gardening and wildlife habitat. In Autumn 2012 the site became a community allotment for locals and the school to enjoy.

Two months on…bean poles and raised beds!
Nicola was at the school once a week to develop and maintain the site, run lunchtime and afterschool gardening clubs for students and staff, plus organise volunteer days open to staff, students and the local community.
See the Gallery (on the homepage) for more photos of Open Space’s development.
